Advanced Ceramic Heat Exchangers (Hexoloy)

Umax Advanced Ceramic material combines one of the most corrosion resistant materials with, high thermal efficiency, and high mechanical  strength. Umax Advanced Ceramic is a proven material technology that has been around for over 15 years and has been proven in a number of highly corrosive applications including, Bromine, HCL, HF, Nitric, and many mixed acids. Umax Advanced Ceramic has succeeded where other materials would fail. Umax Advanced Ceramic offers a number of design advantages over other types of materials including, Teflon® , Tantalum, Glass, and Impervious Graphite.

There is no heat transfer technology currently being offered to the chemical processing, pharmaceutical and steel pickling industries that can match the corrosion resistance, thermal efficiency, and mechanical strength of the UMax Advanced Ceramic heat exchanger.

Hexoloy® ceramic heat exchangers are currently in service in bromine, HCL, HF, nitric acid, and mixed acids; applications where most other materials would fail. And the design features of the UMax unit offer advantages over competitive Teflon®, tantalum, glass, and impervious graphite exchangers.

Apex applies field proven designs and utilizes superior components to integrate the Advanced Ceramic tubing into the UMax AC heat exchanger  design. The Hexoloy tubing is combined with proprietary Teflon encapsulated, steel reinforced tubesheets using a proven, highly reliable o-ring design. The Teflon tubesheet allows optimum utilization of the corrosion resistance properties of the Hexoloy tubing.

Reactive metal units are often constructed of very thin components and subject to mechanical damage, tube collapse and pin hole leaks that cannot be repaired. Our design and manufacturing procedures assure superior performance, high operating efficiency, and reduced maintenance.
